Default Diverse/African American church in Katy, Tx (or near)

Hi, I will be moving to Katy, Tx after graduating from college here in Houston. As many people know church is the heart of African American community. I was wondering if anyone knew of a church that has quite a bit of African Americans, young and old. I am in my 20's so I would hope to go to church with people around the same age.

I am totally ok with a diverse church, but not one with only a few African Americans. A church with at least 30 to 80 percent AA would make me most comfortable. Thanks in advance for any help.

I recently moved out to the Richmond/Katy area myself, and there are not many black churches in out there. I know of three as of now, could be more.

Fellowship of Love, meeting at an elementary school on S. Mason near the westpark toll

Higher Dimensions, which meets at Beckendorf Jf High on South Fry Rd

Antioch Baptist church, which the moderator listed above.

McGee Chapel, on Hwy 6 between I-10 and Westheimer, is another option as well.

This church has two locations - one of which is in the very heart of Katy:

Alief Baptist Church - Home

Don't know much about it all - except have seen the building.

New World Church would be conveniently located to the eastern parts of greater Katy - though it has a Houston address:

Good luck!

the new world church pastor, Robert Johnson, was the former associate pastor at Windsor Village UMC under Rev KirbyJon Caldwell. I didnt know he formed his own church. I may have to visit myself. thanks for the info.
