I am a big fan of the SA food scene. I'm sure Houston has TONS of great food; can't imagine why the food channel or travel channel haven't been there yet.

I'd love to hear of the local eateries in Houston, as I'll be down there next month on business.

Now THAT sounds totally awesome, seriously.

You guys need to recommended some mexican restuarants in SA cause Mi tierras and that other popular one just didn't cut it for me.

I was not impressed by the Mexican food in SA at all.
Found nothing above average on the Riverwalk or near the market area.

My Favorite restaurant in SA was Magnolia Haus. Can't really think of anything else that was good.

well I had a Quesadilla at Paseanos about 10 years ago that was good, but have been disappointed ever since.

I can't believe people are always raving about Mad Hatters. The sandwiches are just okay, but the prices you pay for them negates the okay part.

Shoot I have had better food at Chillis in SA than just about ever restaurant in SA.

Oh, I have had fun memories at Gringos, but it is not about the food.

Ever try Las Palapas or Taco Taco?

Its only natural that San Antonio would have the best Mexican food because its the only real Mexican major city in Texas

No on las Palapas and yes on Taco Taco. Taco Taco was not that expensive so we ate there a couple of times. Was nothing to shout about though.

San Antonio doesn't have as many fresh Mexicans as there are in Houston or DFW.
Many have been here for generation and have never even seen Mexico.

Sorry but Houston's population remember Mexico better because they are in the Kitchen today but was leaving Mexico yesterday. San Antonio's population? Try again.

Whoever says that sa has better Mexican food than Houston has a severe misunderstanding of what real Mexican food is and where you can find it.
