Default Bellaire South & Bellaire West?

Greetings - on Houston Real Estate - Houston Homes, Houston Home Value and Houston Relocation there are two categories. What is the difference between the two communities?

Bellaire South encompasses Meyerland, Westbury, Willow Meadows, Willowbend, et al. Bellaire West, I believe, is more the Sharpstown area.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I don't believe either encompass Bellaire proper, as that is in the Southwest MLS area.

Learn something new everyday!! Are these areas safe? Diverse?

This is all just my opinion, but I'm not a big fan of the Sharpstown area. Keeping in mind that safe is as much a state of mind as it is a reality, I think of the 'safer' neighborhoods in the Bellaire South area as being east of Hillcroft, or at least definitely east of Fondren. And north of Main. There are a number of sketchy apartment complexes along Bissonnet and Braeswood west of there that I wouldn't want to live near. The closer you are to the loop, the better

They are very diverse. Originally, Meyerland was very Jewish, but that has changed and now there are people from all walks of life. One of those areas where everything just blends into a fabric of 50's and 60's homes (with some new construction thrown in). I have owned homes in both Parkwest and Willow Meadows and recommend both of those 'hoods.

In Alief/Bellaire West, i'd say the safer areas are along the stretch of Bellaire Blvd, from Corporate Blvd (just passed the 'Sharpstown area') to Eldrige . Dont look any further south of Beechnut. maybe this will the future definition of the chi-town area (fingers crossed)
diverse, yes, but thats doesnt mean its good in houston
