Ok, Im back to ask you awesome Houstonians your opinions on these neigborhoods. We're looking for a rental in the Heights but haven't found much. We've seen a couple nice ones in both Timbergrove and Garden Oaks. I really like the cute older style homes in Garden Oaks. They seem to have a lot of Character. The husband really likes a certain house in Timbergrove.

If we have to decide between the two, which would you choose? Which one is nicer? "safer"? Better schools?

Thanks in advance!!

Haha. Thanks. I just found this older thread... almost identical question.

So I guess its mostly a matter of coming to a mutual agreement.

Looked into the schools a bit more. The timbergrove one is zoned to Sinclair Elementary and the Garden Oaks homes are both zoned to the Garden Oaks Elementary school which I have learned is a Montessori school... If anyone has info on these schools that'd be awesome.

I love Garden Oaks!!! We lived there for many years and plan on returning at some point. Timbergrove is also really nice but some streets flood. Ask about that prior to moving in.

I like the character overall of Garden Oaks better, but it would really depend on the house. As for schools, I really don't know.
