Default Cable Converter Box

Hi. I'm writing this for my sister. She does not have a computer. Does anyone know where she can get a cable converter box? She is low income. I ltried craigslist and even placed an ad. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Trader's Village or any of a number of flea markets that run on the weekends in the Houston area perhaps. I've seen U-Verse boxes for sale at Trader's Village in the past. I've never looked for a cable-converter box specifically, but I wouldn't be surprised to find one there.

This may be a stretch, but you never know, Salvation Army and Good Will thrift stores sometimes have second-hand electronic items as well.

If you haven't looked on behalf of your sister already, maybe search "Used TV Dealer Houston" on google. Call and ask. If they don't carry what you're looking for they may know where to find it.

Does she need a cable converter box or one of those digital signal converters? Curious because if she is low income, how does she afford cable? If she has cable and needs a digital converter box (not the cable box) comcast was giving two to each household when they did the conversion a few weeks ago.
