It is a small house.
It usually runs $8 - $10 an hour for the quality of person you are considering hiring. Then it will cost you $25 - $50 and hour to bring in a professional painter to correct all of the screw-ups and replace damaged items.

Good luck on your painting!

To the guy who said maybe non-illegals should lower prices: gee, when you have to pay taxes and other costs associated with running a legitimate business, it is tough to compete with black market illegal immigrants. Of course hiring illegals provides no benefit at all to the US economy or the tax base.
Since slavery is no longer legal, somebody has to do the work for lazy white people.

For a lot of people who are gainfully employed, it simply isn't worth the time to DIY. They could work a one day of overtime in their profession and have the paint job paid for 2 or 3 times over. Also, painting isn't exactly an enjoyable, ''rewarding'' kind of DIY job either. That's a concept the racists can't seem to grasp.

That's funny,
I thought that was the reason Texas is the best state in the country economically.

Somebody needs to make up their mind.

That "somebody" isn't me...not sure what you are talking about but I've never said that TX is 1. the best state in the country economically or 2. more competitive bc of giving jobs or money under the table to illegal immigrants.

Why not roll up your sleeves and do the work yourself? You'll save money, get the satisfaction of doing it yourself, and you won't be contributing to the problem that is hiring illegal workers. Did you read that - ILLEGAL workers.

If you really don't want to do it yourself, be a good American and hire someone born and living here LEGALLY. You'll give someone a job and help the country.

I agree with the poster who said go to areas of new construction and talk to the crews that are professional painters. A couple guys on a crew will often take a side job for cash, especially if its a small job.

It might be a little more expensive, but you'll at least know you are getting pros.

There sure is a lot of preaching in this thread. The op simply asked for pricing on getting his house painted and everyone swarmed in with a lecture on illegal immigration. Day laborers are here to stay. Deal with it. The market is there for them. We will continue to use them as long as the "pros" keep taking advantage of us.
