I have learned that this is high school admssion.I will be more comfortable if schools are suggested accordingly near Energy Corridor.

Public school Admissions are based on where you own or rent your house. All that is needed is a contract or bill that shows the address where you live.

Energy Corridor Public High Schools are Westside, Stratford and Memorial. Home prices increase accordingly. Other options are schools out in the Katy area.

Private High Schools in the Energy Corridor area are virtually impossible to get into Midterm. But for reference they are Kinkaid, Village, Strake,Houston Christain, JP II. More are available slightly farther away.

You need to do some research and figure out where you will stay first. Public Schools are allocated depending on your address.

Katy has good schools and may be a good option to stay if you are working in the energy corridor.

From what I've heard from Indian friends, your kid will find gr 9 public school here ridicuoulsly simple coming from India. Exceptions, of course, are literature, american history, and stuff not part of India's curriculum. Hopefully language won't be a barrier. Some private schools are more challenging. AWTY international school has a lot of expatriats studying there and their curriculum allows for kids who move around alot ot have a streamlined education regardless of where they are in the world. Students can do AP, IB and stuff more individuallized ot their stage. I believe they have to get tested and placed.

We pay property taxes that go to the school district. I forget the exact amount, but for example if it is 1% ISD (independent school district) tax, and you own a home worth $300,000, your yearly tax bill payable to the school district would be $3,000.

In the United States we try to give a level of education to all people in society. So the non-AP/IB tracks are not necessarily geared towards university study. AP and IB programs are geared towards university study.
