GOD this CA state is so screwed up... I hope we're not going to do the same thing. Not that we won't and can't pay for our own American people but is ok to pay for people that are here illegally? How screwed up is that??????

Abolish the IRS, implement the fair tax, and then at least the illegals can chip in for the services that they gladly soak up, currently on my dime and yours.

I know states can't secede from the union (civil war settled that), but can we kick a state out? How many votes would that take?

Who says states can't secede?

We don't have to kick CA out. Let them ruin their state if they want to. If the people of CA tolerate that kind of crap then they deserve what they get.

It is when the Federal gov't decides to ram this kind of crap down ALL of the states throat that knocks my hat in the creek. CA can screw their state up but leave TX alone.

So you are saying illegals don't pay property and sales taxes to the state of Texas and their local jurisdictions? So they must all be homeless and not buy anything at stores then? As far as federal income tax is concerned do you blame them for their American employers paying the illegals under the table?

First of all, I never said anything about state and local taxes.

Second, one does not pay property taxes whilst one lives in an apartment with 8 of one's closest relatives. And just how easy is it for an illegal to purchase property in TX, please enlighten me.

And lastly, on federal income tax, I was not interested in blaming anyone about anything in my post, only pointing out that a fair tax would mean that the illegals, paid in cash by those evil, hypocritical "American employers" would have to chip in more for the services they enjoy.

It's a myth that undocumented workers don't pay taxes: Do Illegal Immigrants Pay Taxes? The Other Side of Immigration

Texas is plenty screwed up as well, just in different ways than California.

Please refer to my post above yours.

This article is talking about paychecks and social security deductions. Do illegals being paid in cash under the table get paystubs and have withholding? Do day-laborers under the overpass at Chimney Rock and 59 have checking accounts and direct deposit when they get picked up to paint fences?

And yes they pay state sales tax. I never argued that point. Is that enough to cover the costs of the services they enjoy?

And I am still waiting for some data on how many illegal aliens own property and pay property taxes, vs. those that live in apartments and pay none.

EVERYONE PAYS PROPERTY TAXES EVEN IF YOU LEASE AN APARTMENT OR HOUSE

Do you think the property manager is just going to lose money and take a hit. They include the cost of the taxes on the rent. DUH
