Let me close my eyes and get a vision of what other retail will be there: I see a nail salon and a Subway for sure...which will be very unique to the Houston area "Strip mall scene"

I was driving by and saw that they've put up a new sign for something called the Young Leaders Campus at 90 & Easton, across the street from the entrance to the old prison. According to their web site (Welcome to Young Leaders Campus Network), this is supposed to be some type of preschool that will open in January. But there's no other information on the site, and I don't see how they could open in January seeing as that's only 3 months away and they haven't even broken ground.

To me, this seems to signal that they're not able to attract the retail they were expecting to Telfair and have started accepting anyone that will take the property off their hands. I had heard that they were trying to lure a movie theatre and/or bowling alley to the corner of highway 6 & 90, but that's not looking good at this point.

Not sure, it's likely to also be the economy and problems developers have with getting loans lately. Of course, with First Colony and Lake Pointe being practically next door, there's already lots of retail near Telfair. Could be the communities with less retail competition nearby (Aliana, Waterside Estates, etc.) may end up being the ones attracting more new large-scale retail.

Default The Crossing at Telfair

The development for The Crossing at Telfair is picking up as the economy improves. As mentioned the restaurant near Fadi's will be a Cheddars. Bombay Pizza and a Gelateria will be opening in Bonaventure Plaza (part of Telfair.) The overall goal for the development is a Entertainment district. The developers/owners of the property is Rubicon Realty Group. They would love to hear of any suggestions you all might have as to what types of retailers/restaurants and etc. you would like to see there. Check out their website Rubicon Realty Group and follow them on facebook at Rubicon Realty Group - Small Business - Missouri City, TX | Facebook.

Does anyone know what are those buildings coming up near the intersection of Uty Blvd/ Telfair Ave (next to proposed Costco) ?
One of them looks like a Walgreens/CVS.
