doubt it. too many low level jobs. It will boost houston's GDP, but personal income?? not so much.

Houston needs to attract more companies. Had they not lost companies like Enron, Compaq, HP, Texaco/ Gulf Oil/ Chevron it maybe would, but it has lost a lot these big league areas this past decade.

That's news to me. Now I'm confused. If Houston's total income has grown over 3%, why do people keep saying that it has a lot of low paying jobs (if I said that whole sentence correctly)?

no, I said the Panama Canal will bring more low paying jobs, while all the tech, and oil companies we lost were more high paying jobs.

The jobs brought about by a port can't match the jobs brought about by government in DC

i heard from my mortgage guy the avg. houston income is 35,000$ which is low. Houston is a great place to study the pay disparity in the US

this. a lot of the big players in DC don't actually live there. still hard to find someone doing well in DC that doesn't work for the government or a corp trying to buy the government
