If you guys have any advice about these complexes please let me know, they are all in my price range for a 1 bd apartment. + they are pretty close to Rice, I have a car and don't want to drive more than 15 - 20 min to get to school. And they all seem like the area is nice (?).

Nick

I just moved to Houston recently (I'm also a Rice student), but I worked with an apartment locator, who recommended the Greenway/Upper Kirby area to me. She recommended I stay away from the Med Center, saying that they were a lot of pricy and cheap options, but not much in the middle of the road. I was also steered away from both Villa D'orleans Apartments and Parque Del Oro Apartments as well, and I ended up signing a 6 month lease at Greenway Gardens (the ability to have a 6 month lease, with only an extra $10 fee per month, was a big bonus, as was the W/D). Take this with a grain of salt, since I'm new, but so far I've been very satisfied here; the apartment is nice, the complex is quiet, parking is fine, and the area seems both very convenient for shopping, errands, etc. The drive to Rice is about 10-15 minutes. I hope this helps!

chpg,

I know this is an old post but I was wondering if you remembered why you were steered away from Villa D'orleans Apartments. I am moving to Houston from North Dakota and was looking for apartments down there.

Thanks.
