I have U-verse (tv + net) w/ all movie channels via promotions for $120ish. I live in a small neighborhood and services goes down once a month and is super annoying

Comcast has tv+net for about $100 w/ the features I want, but is only 6 month promo rate. How high should I expect the 'normal' price to be? ATT always has promos and discounts that help me get a lower bill, does Comcast do the same?

They can be quite tricky to negotiate with. Sometimes you have to threaten to switch providers to get them to listen.

Most people hate on Comcast, but I regret leaving them to switch to Uverse. The only thing I like better about Uverse is the on screen channel guide. I am sure you can work the comcast salesperson on the phone for a similar deal or special as Uverse offers.

Comcast is horrible....had it in apartment while waiting on our house to be built. So glad I have DirecTV now....HD channels are great!

I'm just the opposite. I love uVerse and left Comcast (after that I had DishNetwork for a while). My experience is that Comcast customer service sucks and uVerse is pretty good. I've had uVerse for more than a year now and it hasn't gone down once.

Man, I am green with envy. We lose service about every other week. They've had multiple supervisors out and swapped our modem three times, but they can't figure out the problem. The only reason I am keeping Uverse at this point is because I have received so many free channels, fastest (for them) internet and money off my bill because I have had so many problems. Yes their customer service is good but with Comcast I never really had to call their help line.

Maybe it's because I'm in a new build. I watched him run our line from the fiber optic junction.

We had Comcast for years. Cannot get U-Verse. We switched to Direct Tv. It has been nothing but a problem. The TV is OK. Direct Tv customer service is awful. We are going to pay to get shed of our contract then get a Roku. Screw the tv sellers. We don't watch most of the crap they have. Netflix and the computer are in our future.
Why pay for their TV preachers and buy jewelry channels. Talk about subsidizing inferior companies. Who watches that stuff? I am more than willing to pay for what we watch. Why should we pay for 500 channels of crap due to their business model?

I got internet and phone today for the first time in about 5 weeks (there was no problem with TV). The only reason I finally got Comcast out here was I had given up and was going to switch to U-verse. I really, really hate Comcast.

You are on hold forever when you call. Once you get a live person, they are very nice - but the whole service crew seems inept. They were out 3 times and finally just cleared the problem today on the third try. Five weeks??? Good thing I was not an elderly person with only a land line.

Same here, I've had fiber to the house with U-Verse for 1 year 4 months and it only went down once when some guys digging a trench next door cut through my fiber line. Rock solid reliable.
