Tropical Storm Erin
There is a possibility that this thing could make landfall in Galveston. If it does, hopefully it doesn't get as bad as Allison.
Tropical - GOES-12 4 km Visible

Ya know, I just read that "Texas Braces for Erin" on AccoWeather.com.
Looks like a lot of rain and some 35 MPH wind.
There goes the NYSE, dropping down again. Can't anyone in New York figure out that the rest of us have weather and we don't react like little girls? I like to know where the storms are and when they are headed my way, but does the price of oil have to be raised by some pantie-waist every time we get a bit of rain? Just makes me mad.

About eight inches of rain may be dropped in the Houston area, and I can't wait for it! Sure will help cool us down.

Oops! I forgot to mention that I live in the Panhandle of Florida in my previous entry. Just to validate my "rain-creds". I hope your area has a good rain and everything comes out okay.

Erin? Who cares? It's Dean out in the Lesser Antilles that has the models putting it over this way...
Erin should go in somewhere between Corpus and Brownsville - I don't think it will have much effect here besides some cooler weather and rain squalls.
Allison was a once-in-a-lifetime weather event - most TS that hit here are rather forgettable.

I remember when Lily got big. It became a Cat 4 overnight...then it turned to s**ts overnight.

Looks like Dean may more of a problem than Erin. I changed in the last hour to pointing west instead of curving to the north. There goes my hopes for New Jersy. Rats!

Storms have gone past the Dominican and shot straight north to go up the East Coast. Everything is in play for Dean as of right now.
The closest thing to a hurricane to strike the US last year, Ernesto, was originally forecast to come toward Texas while it was in the Antilles only to come north and hit Cuba (near Guantanamo) and then Florida near Miami and the Carolinas near the NC/SC border.
It's a good idea to have some storm supplies just because it's that time of year, but as of right now I'm not worried about a whole lot. I'm just checking the NHC site more.

Watch out according to the news! There are reporters on the beach and weather updates every 10 minutes. Get over it people. We had more rain than this in June.
I can't stand the media.
