Dams hold water,
the more water they hold, the less people are affected by droughts.

Just an idea.

dams arent a be all end all solution. dams pull water away from where it typically flows and the people/neighborhoods that depend on it.

we don't have a lot of water in this state. unless we start majorly diverting water flows from other states we don't have much to work with

we could do some things to prepare:

teach people what to do to conserve - force them to do it (fines)
conserve on the macro level
have something in place to fix water main breaks/major leaks faster and more efficiently (especially if next year is to be as bad as this year as it is predicted)
- an idea for that more contracts with private companies, some type of bidding process, hire more standby crews, streamline the process
... i dont know what else?

Maybe we can plug in for water just like power for cars. It all can be powered by unicorn tears.
