My inlaws visited us a while back after we moved out here in Katy and loved it.. We showed them Fulshear and fell in love with it.

I would assume that before a costco, super target, wallys(aka walmart) kroger, heb or anything else comes even close to Fulshear, the state will have to expand FM 1093, because the one lane in each direction is just not user friendly.

I was leaving the 24 hr fitness yesterday at bella terra at around 645 pm, still daylight, and the line of traffic I saw heading west toward fulshear on 1093 was just awful. I couldnt imagine it

since shopping in Katy and Richmond are so close anyway, I doubt if any mass merchant will set up shot out there anyway.

There will be some relief from this traffic once Cinco Ranch and Cross Creek Ranch open up Fry Road into Cross Creek Ranch. Cinco has already poured the concrete on their side and Cross Creek Ranch has about half the street poured now. I would suspect by the end of the year you will be able to travel from I-10 to Cross Creek Ranch the entire way on Fry Road. As an alternative many people use FM 1463 instead of FM 1093 as well.

I wonder what will happen in the future. Suburbs will only grow so far until they start establishing themselves as Satellite urban centers. The Woodlands is already doing this and so is Katy. Businesses are moving either in town or farther out of town it seems. I couldn't imagine the horror it would be commutting from Cross Creek into downtown. Soon, Houston's orbits will be collecting orbits of themselves.

People do this every day. Cross Creek, Firethorne, Cinco, etc.
45 minutes to an hour.

Much better than trying to commute from Cypress.

Some suburbs do have large numbers of minorities (Sugar Land, Four Corners, Missouri City, Pearland, portions of the Katy area).

I guess the WestPark Tollway moves pretty decently, but how does one get around the cluster of 59 and 610?

I guess its no farther out than the Woodlands, but *shudder*

Just remember, downtown is not Houston's only employment center. Truth be told, the majority of people I know do not work downtown. Here in Katy, many, many people work in the energy corridor & westchase (both on the west side of town)
