Good day lads,

Me Brother is visiting me here in Houston from the Motherland - Surrey U.K. He is feeling a bit rough in this stomach and may need to get it checked by a Nurse/Doctor.

As he does not live in the US, he does not have any insurance.

Can you suggest a clinic or likewise where he can go and get it checked for a fair price? I don't want to send him to somewhere where this is a multi hour wait or somewhere where the rest of the crowd is questionable.

He is located in ZIP CODE 77056-5474

Thanks lads,
Long Live the Queen

Andrew

I'm afraid I can't help with a low cost clinic but you should slap him silly for coming over here without travel Insurance! And he should slap you for not telling him to get some! There are loads if he just did a search online. I always used GoCompare.com and always managed to find a decent one at a decent rate. This is not the place to come without insurance.... of course, it is a bit late now. Hopefully he is feeling better and doesn't need to go. Good luck.

Go to one of those 24 hour care places. They take credit. He may need a shot or a few pills which they can help with.

Thanks for the replies. Is there any 24 hour place near the Galleria that you recommend?

Thank You,
Andrew

If it is just a stomach ailment and nothing life threatening, then another suggestion is the walk in clinics at many of the CVS or Walgreens pharmacies. They are not staffed by doctors - generally nurses or physicians assistants, but they can help, and they can tell if the problem requires more attention or not.

There is one of these a few blocks west of the Galleria on Westheimer.

Just an FYI - a lot of the clinics (like RediClinic's in HEB and a local clinic in Sienna) have decent non-insured prices. RediClinic's is around $70 for a visit and CarePA in Sienna is $50.

Hope your brother gets/got the help he needed.

I hope the OP's brother gets the help he needs but NOTHING is free. SOMEONE is paying for all the Ben Taub freebies. I believe that Harris County taxes subsidize Ben Taub and, if that's true, then all those who pay Harris County taxes are paying for the freebies.

Again, I feel bad for the OP's brother but WHY should Harris County taxpayers be burdened by paying for a visitor's (legal or not) treatment?
