I do think the West side has better prospects than the North.

The West side will have multiple business districts outside 610:
* Uptown
* Memorial City
* Westchase
* Energy Corridor
All, AFAIK will remain strong.

It also has more prestigious neighborhoods:
* Uptown/Briargrove/Tanglewood
* Memorial Villages
* Westside High area
* Memorial area

The North side will have these business districts:
* Greenspoint - may decline
* The Woodlands
* Bush Airport
There are far fewer prestigious neighborhoods

The west is certainly more prestigious, and the development is a lot more regular and dense, but the Northside has a lot of jobs, being close to the big airport is a draw, and the population increases up there is fierce. It is like the move to the Westside the last 15 years.

It will just be interesting to see how that area changes.

And yes, Southernboy, I am interesting in the east side too (well all of Houston actually. I love to see all of the city develop). The South may be the most interesting in the next 30 years because it is kinda new territory being the last to see the rapid growth

I know I've not been to Houston, but it's kind of weird how there is one side of a large area that isn't as progressive as others. I know I'm always going back to Birmingham, but there, the metro's growth is VERY unbalanced.

I know, but I've read posts saying that the east side is undesirable.

far east, near the refineries and the ship channel. We are talking about just east of downtown. I don't think you understand how far the metro extends in every direction

no one is asking you to read it. you are contributing less to the thread with your off topic distraction. We are discussing the point of the thread, if you don't like it get the heck out.

If someone asks a question, I am gonna answer

I have, but no one asked you to. If you don't like the topic, don't enter these threads. If you are more interested in talking about soup and shoe stores, there are thread for those topics too. People are interested in different things. Why are you letting actual city development discussion on a city information website bother you???

and if you don't like a particular poster's post then there is the block feature. use it instead of intolerant whining about people's questions.
