Houston can’t match Dallas as a sporting city | Sports Update | a Chron.com blog

Dallas was ranked as #1 sports city in the nation, while Houston was ranked #24.

What do you think?

I think Houston has a better oil/gas industry than Dallas...oh, and better salt water fishing... oh, and a better NASA location, oh, and a better minor league hockey team.

duh!

It's pretty obvious... between the lastros and the sparklers... not much going on here.... maybe this is the year where the texans are better than the cowgirls, but other than that... we are dommed! I sure missed the 90s when the rockets electrified the city... The mayor would declare it a red rocket day and everyone was behind the team... now it seems like the whole league can't come to an agreement on how to divide the pie... it's sad!

but who cares! Football is on

I guess at some point in February after the hangover from the Superbowl is over we'll realize something is missing

So this is about who is winning? Then this list will change next year, and the years after? If so, I won't waste my time looking at the rankings. I don't pay attention to them anyway. The only time I hear about polls and ranking is on C/D. I honestly thought that article would be on how the fans support their teams.

I'd agree with Dallas being a better sports city, but Houston numbers 24???? BS!

Atlanta and Miami in the top 10?? LMFAO

That list needs to be burned. Not to mention the criteria is lame. Based off winnings??? That does not make a sports city.

Okay, you said it much more concise and better than I did.

There's a big difference between "best sports cities" and "cities with the best sports teams."

Unfortunately nobody told the Sporting News
