Default moving to houston from DC area

hello. i will be moving to houston in November from the DC area and am trying to figure out if there is an auto train or cargo train so i can ship my car. i do not want to add so many miles( 1700) by driving down. there is an auto train from Virginia to Florida, but i cannot seem to find anything from Florida to Texas. I wonder if there is a Ferry or a boat from Florida to Texas? thanks in advance.

There is no auto train to Texas. When we moved, we rented a trailer which we loaded out car on and hitched it to the back of the moving truck. It was long drive however, my husband did all the driving but we arrived with our car and no extra miles.

Another option would be to use one of the auto transport services, which can be very costly. They have them all over the internet.

I did the same thing. For about $300 from Uhaul - Good luck!

Driving?

I did the opposite (moved from Houston to the DC area) and it was less expensive to do the UHaul thing as the previous poster stated.

Try this link: Auto transport quotes car shipping boat movers auto transporters.

They can give you a quote that compares multiple carriers.
