Default Manvel High School - Thoughts/Opinions

We will be moving to Rosharon in a few months and have seen mixed reviews of Manvel High School. Any opinions from people that have kids that go there would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Manvel reminds me of Sterling, Madison, Willowridge, etc. in its infancy....I'm thinking the demographics you see now won't be the same you see in 20 years...how many of Manvel HS students actually live there? I've heard alot of folks come from elsewhere

Alvin ISD will build a new school in Shadow Creek

1. Will that new school in Shadow Creek become like Sterling/Willowridge first, before Manvel does?
2. Whether people come from elsewhere by way of "grandma address" depends on how pressured the attendance office is. When Manvel HS is maxed out, they might scrutinize addresses more.

Is Manvel HS a good, safe school? I have seen mixed reviews. Read that drugs are prevalent, teachers don't care, and sports are more important than education. Also read that it is a good school with good teachers. Looking for some real answers.

We will be living in Sterling Lakes. Not sure if there is a choice of high schools or if must go to Manvel.

that's alot of schools...lol....in the South Side of town Sterling, Willowridge, Madison, Westbury began one way but then people left for whatever reason and then the schools changed and people kept moving South down...problem now is you can't go anywhere

I have family that lived right by Hartman, etc....its crazy how an area can change in 30 years as living off Bellfort and Mykawa on the Bayou was considered big time at one time....Manvel, Pearland, etc. has the same type of features in its early stages
