They're BAD in Dickinson. I can't even go outside. So now I have to get drunk and watch football all day.

Last week I had just gotten over a back sprain and felt good enough to go walking again. I applied a little bit of OFF because I saw a few of them around the house. Everything was fine until the walk back home right as the sun was setting. My walk turned into a run when I looked behind me to see a small CLOUD of mosquitoes trying to find a spot where there was no repellent. Luckily I only got bit 5 times. If you saw the cloud, you too would realize how lucky it was only 5 times.

I was bitten today while in church, and then again in the grocery store. Right now there is one buzzing around my head inside my house.

I have never lived anywhere before where the mosquitoes followed me INSIDE!

That sounds horrible! I don't miss the mosquitoes in Houston! When I lived in Houston they swarmed around my front door and would be sucked in whenever the door was opened. I bought mosquito coils that you burn...I kept those things burning 24/7 during the summer. It was the only way I could keep them away from my door. It is horrible and scary since they carry West Nile. I also had to douse myself in Skin so Soft to keep them off of me! I hate mosquitoes and wish there was some way to eradicate those worthless misery causing parasites!!!!

Where I work, I spend all day in them, with little relief. They buzz around me 30 or 40 at a time. Then I have to come home, or talk to my girlfriend, and have to hear about how bad they are. I know how bad they are! I usually don't complain about them to much, but they seem to be really bad for the past week.

Is this normal and why isn't the city doing something about it? When I was in Minnesota, we had a similar problem many years ago. The state since then have gone out in full force to ensure a pleasant outdoor experience for everyone. I don't even recall the last time that I got bitten in Minnesota.
I just went out to the small a few minutes ago to get a pair of shoes. In the course of getting out of car and get into the mall, I had 10 bites . I'm shocked. I hope this is a rare case. Otherwise, I might have to think about moving again. Mosquitos and us don't mess well together.

Is there a department that treats mosquito that we can call and complain?

By the way, what kinds of mosquito replellents/lotions out there that might be good to use? Natural products would be great but I would be willing to use anything at this time.

To be honest, I don't know what the city is doing. Use to know, because you would hear these trucks driving down the street, spraying repellent to get rid of them. I haven't seen that in years, so maybe the mosquitoes are making a comeback. From my experience, growing up here my whole life, this is not normal. We use to stay outside when I was younger, and they weren't as bad as they are now. You could pick them off, but this past week or so, they are swarming!
