Anyone have a clue what they are starting to clear land for at this corner behind the new McDonalds? I know it was supposed to be a shopping center. Wife is praying they put a Kroger there.

I finally asked a few days ago. It's a Sports Authority.

It's strip mall, retail professional center as far as I know.

Kroger's will be at 1093 and Spring Green - NE corner. Along with Academy Sports.

Southpark at Cinco Ranch | New Regional Planning

As to what's going on behind McDonald's - don't know the details, but that area will be mostly residential...

Any idea when the Krogers will finally be built. On the other side of Spring Green will be a Lowes.

I think I'm in "I'll-believe-it-when-I-see-it" mode. There's been talk about a Kroger and Lowes on Spring Green since early 2007... at least. We're going on 5 years now, and still no Kroger/Lowes.

Is it because that the Houston city limits extend into Fort Bend county from Harris County? Or in other words, Houston is still expanding westward as far as it can go. I know that a few moths ago, when I stayed at a hotel in W. Houston, I ended up traveling through Cinco Ranch and it was still considered apart of the city of Houston all the way to Sugar Land.

I don't know for sure but is Cinco Ranch still considered a part of Houston or is it a part of Katy? Anyway, I imagine that any new area like what you are describing would have at least one supermarket like Kroger or HEB.
