Well, you can't read. I said you could fit "much" of Austin in it, not "all of" it. But I guess you enjoy altering others' statements to get your way.

The picture speaks for itself. You don't need math or a scientific equation to show how much of a mega-metropolis Houston is compared to Austin.

Okay... so? Austin is about .45 of Houston's land area. According to the links, its population is less than .4 of Houston's. This all sounds pretty proportional.

We're talking about Texas here, not the dense northeastern cities. The Texas cities are all similar in development.

I don't think Sunderpig lives in reality. I've even posted stats and charts that directly showed he was mistaken and/or lying when he says crime and pollution are getting worse, but I guess he just ignores it all. Can't have anything that might interfere with the ongoing negative campaign!

If Houston annexes Beaumont, does it stop being Beaumont?

There's a reason why Houston's development spans more to the West and North. I think Brenham has more to worry about than Beaumont. Who knows though. The man in charge of the design of the original Katy Freeway outside 610 thought building it in a minimal ROW and as small as possible was the best thing to do. Look what happened. And inside the loop, besides the ongoing construction right now on the frontage roads, the original overall design is pretty close to what it was in the early stages.

What is the reason?

Up North there are no established cities outside of Jersey Village...Cypress is in the County and not a city, then its Hockley which isn't a city, etc....

To the west, its more of the same..
