1. All of their homes are outside FM 1960.

2. The company filed for bankruptcy (Chapter 11) in January 2009. Emerged in July 2009. Totally screwed their unsecured lenders (vendors) who ended up with 15 - 20 cents on the dollar against principal outstanding. One secured lender took 45% of the stock of the company, thus wiping out the family that owned the business.

I'd never trust them, particularly since 45% of the stock is owned by a jilted lender.

Just sayin'...

Ronnie

First Texas Homes is new to Houston,TX and they are based out of Dallas, TX. Darling homes and Highland Homes are comparable in design and are both good builders. DR Horton is a long reputable builder and have communities all throughout the Houston area.

First Texas has been in the Houston market since the late nineties. Horton has plenty of consumer reviews available online that speak volumes.

I LOVE Highland's designs.
We would have went with them if they were building in our neighborhood.
Instead we went with Trendmaker, another great builder. So far we have had a very good experience with them.

Spring Trails is nice. Has amenities and is established.

Harpers preserve is brand new, but next to the woodlands.

Spring Trails is a nice master planned community with lots of amenities. The community has plenty of nature trails and plenty of trees. The community gives you easy access to Hardy Toll Road. A client I worked with purchased with Coventry Homes which is part of MHI Homes. The family is happy with their purchase and with the community.

Harper's Perserve just had its grand opening back in August. I toured the community and I am impressed with the community layout and amenities it has to offer. Its within close proximity to the Woodlands Mall and shops.
