We are moving to the Conroe area and love boating, tubing, PWC, and swimming. So with that in mind, are there alligators in Lake Conroe, and is it hazardous to do those activities? Thanks.

Yes and no. Chances of running afoul of a gater are miniscule vs. the chances of drunk partiers, boaters, tubers, TWC'ers messing you up.

I've never heard of an alligator attack and I'm from that area.

I hope you aren't expecting to do much tubing on Lake Conroe right now, you'll need to pull it with a truck.

Never seen an alligator or heard of an alligator attack in Lake Conroe, however they are DEFINATELY in the lake and surrounding creeks and ponds. Do recall they pulled a massive gator out of the Dam that got stuck in the turbines. There's a better chance you'll see one wandering around in Memorial Park.

A lot of gators in Texas, but not a lot of recorded attacks.
