Default FSN Houston - Who's the Rockets commentator?

I'm watching the Wizards-Rockets game right on FSN Houston

Who the h.... is the commentator?
That guy is straight up driving me crazy with all the stupid crap that he keeps on saying.
Any high school could do a better job than him.

Reminds of somebody, but I don't know who.... I can only think of Mike Epps everytime he talks.

Clyde Drexler. He sucks at commentating. Calvin Murphy or Bill Bullard need to take his spot. Drexler is so bad, that you can't even get mad anymore. How bad he is at commentating makes the broadcast funny.

I think it is Bill Worrell you are thinking of. HE IS TERRIBLE!!!! Doesn't know a thing about basketball! He has a hard time keeping up with the speed of the game and always wonders why calls don't go the rocket's way. Clyde isn't really any good either, but at least he knows the game. He has the correct Bill all the time on the air, or there is an awkward silence where I know he is rolling his eyes.

Probably the worst team of play by play team i've heard in the NBA.

No, you're mistaken. He's talking about Clyde. Bill Worrell is actually good and, like any local commentator, will be a little biased towards the Rockets on fouls and such, but he's not an over the top homer. There is an entire thread on ClutchFans (largest Rockets forum on the web) about Clyde Drexler's "Drexlerisms" and how he is a horrible commentator that it's now funny to listen to him.

You're right. I re-read his post and saw the Mike Epps reference!

But I still hate Bill Worrell. He's not an over the top homer, but his lack of real knowledge of the game makes him act that way when certain things happen. He sounds and acts like a typical uneducated, yet passionate fan. Not good for a commentator.

He and Bill Raftery (ESPN) are by far the worst "personalities" in basketball.

That's what p....s me off
If they hire a "professional" to be a commentator, at least make sure that he doesn't like a dumb.... drunken fan in a bar.

I expect the commentators to point out things about the game that most fans would miss.
Not to tell us a stupid joke everytime somebody misses a shot
"If we got points for hitting the net on the outside we would easily be this year's champions"
(just made that one up)

Play by play guys are not necessarily supposed to be extremely versed on the game itself. That's the job of the analyst.

That being said, Worrell knows plenty about the game. He has just been stuck with a horrible color guy. Drexler just says the mot obvious, dumb stuff. He is actually much better now than three years ago which is sad to think about.

Bill Raftery is bad? Blasphemy. He is one if the best and good entertainer. If you want to hear bad; ask the Bulls fans about Stacy King.
