Default Apartments in Houston

I will be moving to Houston around the first of Feb '08 for a job. I am wondering about apartments in southwest Houston. I am looking for no more that 950 for a 2bd/2ba. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I've been looking at websites, but consumer opinions are what I value. Thanks

Try apartmentratings.com...you can type in a zip code and it will give you a listing of apartments in the area with reviews from people who lived there.

Default Some helpful info:

I haven't ever been to any of these but I've read some good things. Not sure about the area, but you'll figure that out yourself. You might want to check these out in more detail...

Meyerland Court = Meyerland Court

Meyergrove = Meyergrove in Houston, TX

Bankside Village = Apartment for rent and housing. Houston, Texas. - Home

Meyer Oaks = Meyer Oaks in Houston, TX

thanks for the info I will read up on it. I've briefly stayed in Houston before but I was attending Texas Southern and I pretty much never ventured out of the area. I was only there for a year so I am not familiar with meyerland or any other neighborhoods outside of neartown.

Meyerland is a nice, older community. A 2/2 for 950 sounds about right for that area. Note that if you take a ride down S. Braeswood to the west outside of the loop, the neighborhoods degrade rapidly outside of Meyerland.

Just saw your post. For your safety, do not try Little Nell apts. See the thread, or search for posts concerning this complex - it's beautiful, the apartments are fabulous, and you could get killed at any time, night or day.
