Meadows Place, TX
I do not live in this town however my daughter attends school in Meadows Place. It has one of if not the best elementary school in Fort Bend ISD. Why doesn't anyone ever mention this town in forums? Is it because it is so small? Is it because it is easy to lump Meadows Place in with Sugar Land? Or is it because its proximity to the southwest side makes it less desirable? My wife and I are considering buying in this small, forgotten little southwest suburb. The way I see it is....
Pros: Has a great elementary school and feeds into good schools
You get a decent sized house for your buck
The police can easily patrol the town and are on every little thing
Close proximity to 59
Cons: Relatively far from downtown
Not a large variety on house styles
Close proximity to southwest side
Any opinions on this town would be greatly appreciated

Meadows Place is not really a town, its just a subdivision that never got annexed. Its nice, I hate driving through there cuz theres always a speed sting. But it does have good schools, quiet roads, small government, large police presence and good home prices. Its nice but kinda boring, but what do I know, I'm 22! It probably never gets talked about since its so small. dont worry about it being in the Southwest, like I said, the police are strong and everyone knows it. besides, it borders sugar land, stafford and a well to do part of alief that is identical to the meadows.

That's not necessarily a bad thing.
Ryan's right - it's not really a town. More of a subdivision.
I have friends that live there, in Meadows Place, and they love it. Been there for years and wouldn't go anywhere else. I think it's an older, more established area and that's why you don't hear as much about it as you do the, say, newer, flashier, or "younger" suburbs.
Course, that's JMO.

Speed trap? Evidently nothing has changed for years! Growing up in Sugar Land, going to the defunct "Deauville Mall," we all knew not to speed there.

I have fond memories of the Meadows, as I grew up there on Brighton Lane from preschool to 3rd grade back in the 80's. I'm sure things have changed quite a bit since then, but perhaps not. It was your typical middle-class hard working family neighborhood, where all the kids on the block knew and played together.

Thanks for the replies
Any more are welcome, of course! One thing I would imagine has changed is the multiculturalism. I have no idea if it has always been so diverse but judging by my daughter's school (which is in Meadow's Place) it certainly seems that way. And being a white guy married to an Mexican-American woman, I am looking for this environment. We really want to live in the loop and could afford to however I see these places in the Heights and so forth and they are so tiny.

Meadow's Place incorporated to avoid annexation by Stafford. It originally was known as "Meadows," but the city changed its name to avoid confusion (as a city was called "Meadow")

Well, Vicman since Stafford seems to be in the news mostly for trying to reduce the amount of escorts living in their hotels, I can see why!
