My partner and I are trying to purchase a home in the Houston revitalization areas using the HOPE program. We are looking in Near Northside but there doesn't seem to be much new construction there. Would Sunnyside or Acres Homes be really unwise for a lesbian couple? We are out and plant to stay that way. Any input re: area would be appreciated.

IF you qualify for HOPE...which is the 30K grant right? i would consider going to an area that offers the $19, 500 Grant from the City of Houston. The $19,500 areas are much safer and nicer than the HOPE areas. If you are going to a HOPE area, be sure to get your concealed weapons permit.
