According to ABC13, there's an epidemic of stolen high-dollar dogs in Midtown. I can't find a link. So, if you have a dog that won't eat strangers, don't move to Midtown.

I saw both of them reported on Channel 2 news, so maybe there would be a link on their website. One was found (in Austin!!) and the other is still missing.

I had a Siamese cat stolen from our front yard about 15 years ago.

At first, I thought the cat was out roaming. Had a neighbor not seen what happened, I would never have known.

i blame the whole industry - certain breeds can now be spotted as "designer" i.e. puppies people pay $800 or more for even though they will eat your shoes and their own crap just as well as a rescue dog. it could even BE a rescue dog or a mix but some numb nuts on the street isn't going to know the difference. before it was them stealing boxers, pitts, rotts etc to try to sell them as fighters (but that is a lot more work and time to train a dog to be vicious)

anything worth that kind of money is a commodity; therefore, probably not used as a drug mule or a bait dog unless the person has a hard time selling it off

no i don't blame the dog of course or the loving owner, but the whole system is messed up. like a fancy watch or a 4k diamond ring if you have one of these dogs you have to start watching your back or not just taking it out to the street
