Also Kingwood is waterfront on Lake Houston (as is Atascocita) Eagle Springs is nearby and also nice,as is LakeView.

Check Katy. It's west of Houston. Most of it is not in a flood area and the schools are some of the best. Homes are very affordable and you can get alot of home for your money. Property taxes are a bit high but worth it.
