Default Hauntings?

Okay - as someone has asked about Elder St. Lofts, what about other places rumored haunted in the Houston area?

La Carafe?
The Newport subdivision in Crosby?

Patterson Road - the bridge that passes over Langham Creek. Supposedly, it was a site of a bloody Civil War battle. Many drivers have said they have heard loud tappings at the car doors, while going over the bridge.

We did a Ghost Tour a few months after we moved here. Supposedly Hermann Park is haunted, it too was a Civil War site.

Look up "the face at utmb" When I was a student in college, some folks showed it to us. It was really there, but I think it was just a combination of moonlight and the properties of building stone. Kind of like seeing Jesus in a cheetoh.

Yes it is really there. I just saw it yesterday on the cruise for the 2nd time as the Captain always points it out. That face is very very clear and there is no mistake or question of shadows or lighting. That face is real and clear.

It's the face of Ewing Hall. Legend has it that the man refused to sell his precious land to UTMB. He put it in his will that his family never ever sell that land after his death. He died and of course the family sold the land anyway. His threats are believed to come true as his face appears on the building. He is not a happy Ghost.

More proof: Over the years, UTMB sand blasted his image from the concrete wall numerous times. Each time, within 30 days the identical image reappeared on another panel of the building. Today UTMB will not spend the money trying to rid the face. It is said they are more afraid of the Ghost moving inside the building then the money it's taking to try and rid the face.

Ol Ewing is there to stay and haunt his survivors.

Is there another face? Someone had told me there was the face of Jean Lafitte there - maybe they were referring to the Ewing face.

Looked up the picture you mentioned and found this site - it seems interesting.

The trifecta is found at the Menger Hotel In San Antonio. We have Sallie the maid, who haunts the floors of the hotel - Sam Houston himself, who haunts the bar (of course) - and some janitor that haunts the basement. Sounds a little crowded.
