Hello, my husband and I will be purchasing our first home. I don't want to get anything too expensive because I am a full time student and he is the only one employed. Our realtor has sent us listings from the Hwy 288 and Beltway. How is this area? The flood zone map shows it floods is this accurate? I want to remain under 100K. Or any other decent areas inside the BW8? Thanks!

I'm not too fond of that area under $100k. I'm assuming you mean 77047 or 77045, correct? Are you looking at new builds or older homes?

Inside the loop is 288 and 610. 288 and beltway is a whole different area.

Agree with Westres. Under 100K in that area = bad things.

Don't do it, it's not worth your safety and you will never get rid of it. Rent a townhome close to his work or your school.
