It depends on your price range, where you plan to work, what type of commute, etc. Finally, IMO, I would consider renting a single family home, with four teenage boys.

Hey all - sorry if this has been posted before - but I would call the Houston PD and ask about crime stats in your zip, specifically in the zip you're considering. I did when I arrived in Houston and it saved me from car break-ins, car theft, and management staff who enter your apartment and steal your belongings. It works!!

I would go to Sugarland or else back as far as the Galleria or the Kirby/S. Shepherd, W. Gray area. No need to go to the Med Center really. Try those other streets - some nice places in there. Sometimes you can find and older home that has been converted into a fourplex of apts. in the W. Alabama, W. Gray S.Shepherd area; those are pretty cool and a fun area.
