I went over to Brazos Bend SP earlier and noticed that the Interchange of U.S. 59 and Crab River Road in Sugar Land is set up for the future Grand Parkway. However, once I traveled a block south on Crab River, the access roads that are already built at the interchange dissapear and the road becomes a narrow, two lane road with lots of businesses and homes on both sides.

So how is the Grand Parkway supposed to be routed through that area? When heading south towards Brazos Bend SP on Crab River, the right side of the road seems like an area where it might be built (from 59 to the Rosenburg city limits) but there will have to be lots of businesses torn up and moved and lots of trees cut down for that to happen.

I can't imagine how the Grand Parkway will go through that area, unless there is a bypass built further down on HWY 59.

Reminds me of learning that 99 in Katy was originally supposed to go on Mason Road.

I heard there's no immediate future plans to extend 99 south beyond 59. Don't know about the future

All the proposed routes are here: The Grand Parkway Association
Segment C would be the area you are talking about.

There is enough room to squeeze it through but, there will be some loss of businesses and maybe the homes directly up against the old road.

But don't worry, construction isn't supposed to begin until 2016 and because of budget problems, it will most likely be later.
