Houston isn't racist, however it can be very citizenist. Many are sick and tired of the illegals free-loading off our city. Tension is building in that respect.

After living over 40 years in Seattle and now almost five in Houston, I may not be an expert, but I do have a pretty good perspective.
What do you want in a city? If you have kids in school and cannot afford private schools, Houston is the better bet. Move into Klein or Kingwood, or Cy-Fair and you have excellent schools in affordable neighborhoods. The nice new home we bought for 180 would cost well over 500 in Seattle.
Seattle is more "politically correct" so the racism there is more subtle, perhaps. But there are closed minds in every town.
Seattle takes the cake on scenery. No contest. And for outdoor sports like biking & hiking it's Seattle for sure.
Friendlier people? Houston.
There are good things about either town. Good luck.

Yeah, baby, Woodinville (east side) resident for 3+ years in a townhome. Politically correct to the point of being uptight. So, just like everyone says, it's easier to find friendlier people in warm weather...in this case, IAH...and in this case, you put some bills in your pocket.
Oh, about the scenery. When it's warm enough to go the beach in Puget Sound for those 2 months, the beaches are pebbly, mossy and it's cold enough such that there are Orcas in the distance.

Another delusional GOPer. When will you learn? What is citizenist? I've heard of that blog before. Do you mean nativist?
Unlike Farmers Branch's extremism, Friendswood (true to it's name) took the mainstream route and decided to enroll the two workers in English classes. (If you ask me, it was a copycat attempt to accomplish the same in some town around Houston. The perpetrator is probably a Dallasite.)

Where I live it's only half-green. You would think that with enormous amount of rain trees and grasses would be green. They are not. Not the green I am used to seeing in Napa Valley, Santa Babara, etc.
