Last night I saw a piece on Costco on CNBC. I remember hearing talk about a new Costco location somewhere in Fort Bend County, so I decided to do a search. Apparently, Newland has been working with Costco to secure a site. Last night the City of Sugar Land, proposed to rezone 16.42 acres for commercial use at 59 near the intersection of University.

This is the notice on last night's meeting from the City of Sugar Land:
PZ PH Costco PD 042612

Did anyone attend? What was the outcome...commercial approved? Costco , yes/no?

Yes, there is going to be a Costco at that site. I don't know about the outcome of the meeting. I can't imagine it being anything other than a formality.

I thought they were looking at the SE corner of that intersection instead of NE

As I understand it, it is a done deal. Costco is a big Win for Sugar Land. This will be between University & 1st Colony. Sweetwater Blvd. North of 59. Someone i know at costco said it is just that it takes time to do things in Sugar Land.

Me too! I was a member in NY but it was close to my home; not so the one here in Houston. Sam's Club is just no comparison!
