Operating Expenses , do to the Govt not investing in the NEC corridor in decades the Infrastructure expenses are huge. Since this new line would be built to modern standards its expenses should be covered along with the operating expenses by the fares. HSR is cheaper to run then regular rail due to the lower amount of employees needed to run it and the fares...

Its noted on the top of article....many HST operate with a profit...

More like 190-200mph average speed....

Just how much are you thinking a round trip HSR ticket will be?

Besides, I have a 80 mile daily commute and don't pay half that much in gas.

Plus car maintenance, plus car insurance, plus inspection, plus possibly get in a wreck, etc, etc.
