Default Housing/commute to Texas Medical Center

We are family of 4 considering a move to Houston for a job at one of the TMC hospitals. Any suggestions on good, safe neighborhoods that are within reasonable (15 - 20 minute) commutes. School district quality is not an issue. Is Bellaire within that commuting time?
Thanks

Bellaire/West U are 15 minutes from TMC and are very nice. They are separate cities in themselves completely surrounded by Houston. So you could imagine they are also probably some of the most expensive places to live around here.

If you're looking suburban, Pearland might be 20 minutes from TMC if you leave home at 6:00am. The drive home would probably be double, though.

Thanks for the info. We're from the East Coast so expensive means something else to us. We don't need too much space and we can afford up to 500 K (double income family). The key for us is not to spend too much time in the car to work or back. Had enough of that.

Yeah, a budget of 500k in that area will set you up fine!
