I use to see to see that statue every time I would go back to school. I think it looks better at night IMO. I use to like during football season when our school would win a game they would turn the statue orange. Though it is a nice statue and riding through the hills on I45 is pretty neat, they do have better scenic views on other freeways throughout the state.

The statue is also where i say i officially leave or enter the Houston area.

Huntsville also has the Prison Museum and the prison farms along I45, the old-time fortress prison downtown - - and the town was the basis for the movie Dazed and Confused. But.....that does not make a dent in one b-o-r-i-n-g stretch of highway.
