The Judges here are some of the worst in Texas which is near bottom of the barrel in this country. Not surprising, but any impact her story makes will not come near to touching anyone in the judicial system

Thanks to Haver for bringing this to our attention early on... the story has since appeared on national and international news, and sparked outrage much outrage. It's just phenomenal short-sighted stupidity on the Justice of the Peace's part. Here's the latest news.

More than 97,000 people have signed the petition on change.org to cancel the fine and sentencing. I'm waiting to sign the petition to kick the JP out of office.

How do they punish all the meth heads in Montgomery County? Bad move by the judge.

The sad thing is.... we shouldn't have to be doing this to fix a judge's mistake

It's the American solution to everything these days.
Way to build up that strawman. What I'm saying is it's obviously her parents/guardians that need to be held accountable for her truancy and not her. Why is she supporting her younger sibling and her over 18 year old brother? Her brother needs to get a job and take out student loans, like I did. Her parents or whoever they turned over guardianship too are the ones who need to be supporting the younger sibling. Hold the parents/guardians accountable.

Exclamation Do NOT move to Houston

I am beyond outraged and disgusted by what I read today - and am calling for all Texas residents of Houston, to call and complain about this complete a$$ of a judge (oust that idiot out of his position !!) I would love to throw Judge Lanny Moriarty in the slammer for life with no parole - he IS the reason our judicial system is scoffed at across the globe). Who in their right mind elected this idiot into office ? Anyone considering moving to Houston, better look elsewhere.....

Here is another reason (on top of hundreds more) why to home school your kids and keep them out of government run institutions (public schools) and all the bureaucracy B.S. entwined with it....

For those of you on the fence about schooling - do yourself a favor and read this book:

There is a whole 'nother thread about this.

You are guilty of trying to paint the whole city of Houston with the same broad brush. Shame on you.

That's not counting people who donated outside of the website, like me and a lot of others. Here's hoping she can cut down to one job and get some rest. The country needs young people like her.
