I went for a long ride and I saw on a digital sign downtown that the temp was 101 degrees. Could this be correct? It didn't seem that hot, so I think maybe it's not right...

Hobby Airport only got up to 92 today and Bush got to 93. We are still a few weeks away from possible 100's.

I wish I could be outside and be used to the heat but like the rest of Houston I'm stuck in an office for a large part of the day so when I get out it doesn't feel too great. It hasn't gotten old yet (or really hot) so I'm sure I will have enough time to complain five months from now when we are still in the 90's.

*I think it's really funny how ABC news calls the 90's that part of the country has been experiencing a "heat wave" when in Houston and the rest of Texas we call it "May."

No way it hit 100 except for the interior of a car. It was warm, but we still have a ways to go.

It's possible it was 100 in direct sun. Official temperatures are taken in the shade.

I just wanted to post the numbers for Hobby and Bush for future reference. The actual number the NWS goes with for Houston is the one at Bush even though Hobby is closer.

National Weather Service : Observed Weather for past 3 Days : Houston Hobby Airport

National Weather Service : Observed Weather for past 3 Days : Houston Intercontinental Airport

Ellington Field was 97 today, definitely felt like it:

National Weather Service : Observed Weather for past 3 Days : Houston / Ellington

Wouldn't be surprised if pockets around Houston were at least as hot today.
