Default Garage apartment in West Houston or Heights

Looking for a small, safe apartment, not in a big complex (maybe a garage apartment) preferably in Houston Heights, or nearby neighborhood. I hear there are great garage apartments around but don't know how to find them.

Drive around Heights, there are usually signs posted out front. Tons of garage apartments.

I'm in the same boat, only I'm moving in 2 weeks and living in Brazil currently (and I won't be back before moving down).

I've tried har.com but am having trouble finding the garage apartments...I'd like to spend $600-800 if possible.

Stop-go: if I were to come the weekend I'd need to move in do you think I could find a garage apt w/o any problems? You say that there are a lot in the area?

Thanks!

You may want to put an ad on Craigslist saying that you're looking for a garage apt. I'd ask for photos because even $800 is pretty low for a decent place. I'd recommend Montrose as well. But you may get bombarded with replies.

Also, coming in on the weekend that you want to move in is going to be tough because a lot of landlords would want to run credit check etc.

Good luck to you though!

look in Montrose and the Rice area...driving around is best. There are also a few small apartment complexes that may be in that price range.

If I come across a place that I like in the area, do you think I'd be able to move in that same day/weekend? I'd be driving in and starting work on the following Monday, so I wouldn't have time to process paperwork and what not; I'd need to move in and get going from there.

Is this possible? Thanks!

Unlikely. Have you considered staying in an extended stay hotel for a week or two while you get settled in?

Here's one that's pretty central - Houston - Greenway Plaza, Overview - Extended Stay America

I just sent you a message. I'm actually looking for a roommate to share my 4 bedroom house in West Houston.

This is what I did for a month or two. Good way to chack the area out first.
