Default Small/Medium Business Districts Good To Live By?

Hey Everyone,

I'll be moving down to Texas sometime in 2008 and will be starting a small business (IT/Computer Solutions). I'm looking for a vibrant middle class neighborhood to call home while i build my business up for 3-5 years. I'd like to have a short commute to small/medium sized business where i plan to do most of my work/selling.

Where do you recommend? I've been looking at areas in the North and North West (Woodlands, Spring, Tomball, etc), as well as the West (Katy) but am not sure how business is in/around these areas.

I live in Detroilet now and have a lot of customers in Troy. The city has a big business District as well as many great communities...anything like that you could point me too?

I'll also throw in that i will evntually want to move out into some land (2+ acres) and build a house of my own in 3-5 years...and i dont want an hour cummute.

Thanks so much.

I don't think you'll find acreage that close to Houston, unless you look South of it, like Friendswood. Or maybe Magnolia. But you'd be cutting that commute time pretty close.

You could consider Katy, there are many business districts which are springing up, that don't involve a long commute (Park Ten; Energy Corridor, etc.).

have you looked into buying a franchise or an existing business? that should supply you with some projections (factor in your own products/services) and general location of your home
