I have found a couple but they were so small I thought they were worms at first! One was on the floater and the other was swimming around. They were just garden snakes. I scooped them out and put them back in the garden.

I have no idea of the cost, but a couple of years ago I rented a house and the owner told me he would be taking out the pool. A section of fencing was taken out, the pool was drained, and there were jackhammers going on for about 4 - 5 days. Then, they filled the pit with dirt, laid sod, and rebuilt a new section of the fence. I would imagine it cost a pretty penny, and it was not a very big pool.

Pools are easy to maintain and fun on weekends and evenings. A spa is also great in the winter. I had one at my house in Houston for about 6 years and only had a few minor issues. Get a home maintenance contract and you won't have to worry about the expense of pumps or heaters going out.

BTW, I bet you spend an hour per week making morning coffee.
