I like the idea. And it can be a DIY.
Will do more research.

For those of you who use the misting system. How you have been had it? Does the solution lost its effectiveness over time as there are many kinds of mosquitos and they might become resistance with the spray over time.

Since the little tiger mosquito moved in, about the only system that really works; is tolerance.

Pour this stuff:

Amazon.com: EcoSMART 33149 Organic Insect Killer Concentrate For Lawns and Landscapes, 32-Ounce: Patio, Lawn & Garden

into the reservoir of this:

Amazon.com: EZ Jet Water Cannon: Patio, Lawn & Garden

And spray it all over your yard, the sides of your house, fences, plants, etc. Kills existing mosquitoes and keeps them away for about 6 weeks.

DavidAg02 - I bought the Ecosmart and sprayed on our yard. It was good for a few hours but it was sure not lasted for 6 weeks. The next day we have less mosquito than normal but they were back in full force by the 3rd day.

We've had our misting system for a couple months now and there are no bugs whatsoever. No mosquitoes, or any flying bugs for that matter. Also on the completely vaporized list of critters are spiders, crickets and pretty much anything else that crawls. Also, prior to the misting system, my fruit trees and herb garden were getting munched on pretty badly...not anymore though. They are growing fuller and healthier.

I love this damn thing!

Just an update. My system has been working like a charm. No bugs at all...nothing. As I said before, it's the best investment we've made in our home so far. Also, our friends have had theirs for two years now and theirs haven't had any issues either. We use the same company.

Also, should something break, they will service it free of charge as long as you are using the repellent. We own the equipment.

Deckhanddavy - Thansk for the updates. That's cool . Now I think I want to have one .
What type of repellent do you use and how much does it cost you per month on average?
I'm wondering if the repellent would cause anything harmful to the kids.
