Nobody said that everybody in The Woodlands is racist nor was anyone implying it. However, you are much more likely to encounter people there who are uncomfortable around people of color. Perhaps it is not necessarily out of prejudice but rather being uncomfortable around or not knowing how how to interactact with certain people. That being said, my significant other has had kids say things to her. That however was a small christian private school. It was not at a public place.

I want to thank you for posting your post! I have been looking for places to move myself and two children.. I currently live in Wyoming. I graduate in May and am looking to transfer to finish school and more opportunity for myself and children.
I have lived in the Bay Area as well as many different cities. I am excited to explore this one:-)

I appreciate everything you said and you have made me more confident on my decision for Houston. I am putting in for Phoenix Arizona as well. I figured which ever one comes up first I will go.... Game of 50/50 chance..

Is there any advise you wish to give me for being a single mother of two and full time student moving to this new City?
