Questions for anyone here that has actually taken the 102 from downtown to Bush. Not the discontinued Direct but the local 102.

1. Is luggage allowed? I'm talking about one checked and one carry-on. Is it stowed underneath, in an onboard area, or sits by your feet?

2. The route shows pickup near Downtown Transit Center at Travis and Jefferson. Is it exactly at that corner or somewhere "nearby"?

3. The bus arrives at Terminal C. To depart from Terminal E would it be best to go through security at C and take the connector from C gates to E, or take the interlink to E and go through security there? Can you check bags at C for an E departure?

I have no idea about this bus and frankly have never heard of it either. But I visit IAH a lot and it seems that you can only check your baggage in the terminal where your airline has ticketing counters setup and of course you don't want to go through security unless you are at your designated terminal.

You use the bus?

In any case, you don't really want to go through the hassle of changing terminals. It's probably best to take the interlink to E and working everything out there.

Flying United, serves both terminals C and E.

C and E are connected in the gates, inside the security perimeter.

1. Yes, you can stow luggage underneath the bus, much like a greyhound bus

2. It is one block north of the Transit center.
You can also catch it just east of the Transit center right there next to the rail on Main.

3. What Sublime said

I've ridden this bus twice, boarding at McKinney and Travis. The first time it was right on time, the second time about 10 minutes late. One driver insisted I put my carry-on sized suitcase in the underneath stowage area, and the other let me keep it with me and place it under my seat. There are also some storage areas overhead. I used the interlink to go from Terminal C to the terminal where I was boarding.

So...basically what everyone else said but from someone who has actually ridden this bus. If you don't mind the time it takes, it's a really cheap and easy way to get to Bush IAH.

Thanks all. We ran short of time plus with the rain we got a ride to Bush. But we rode the 88 Hobby Airport bus back to town and it went smooth and fast. Yeah, left from one airport and came back to another. That's why it wasn't feasible to just drive and park at a lot.
