Hi,
I moved down here with both me and my my husband having jobs. We got here and started working and things with my new job went bad because it was not the position they had told me it would be. Does anyone know of a good place to start looking for some healthcare admin jobs? I have plenty of experience and very good references. I'm really worried about being down here with no job. Also are there any good headhunters in Houston for these types of positions?

Well specifically I have a lot of experience handling denials, appeals, insurance verification and claims processing mostly for Medicare part a, b, and d. I have also done office and intake coordinating.

Join HFMA and its local chapter if you are not already. Also ACHE would be helpful, but it's more targetted to Administrator (CEO, etc) as opposed to finance. Check the different facilities at the med center and see about job openings they may have posted in their HR dept.

Have you also thought about looking into healthcare software companies? many of them support denials software, claims, coding/billing, etc.
