I dont know how we did it but either the lady that made this doesn't know what she's doing or we might actually be on to something...

Employment numbers. The problem is they never spend much time talking about what kind of jobs, which is why our unemployment number is rising - the jobs cannot keep up with the number of unskilled or differently-skilled people flocking here after reading several of these type of articles.

Oh God. Sounds like Houston is going through what Atlanta had gone through in the early 2000s.

But this couldn't be more true and is what sets us apart from most cities. We are usually dogged for this but I value its uniqueness.

"Over the past decade, the dreary corporate cityscape has been quietly transforming. Stylish housing developments have popped up downtown, restaurants have taken up residence in former factories and art galleries like the Station Museum have been inhabiting warehouses."

"Combine that with a strong theater scene, world-class museums and a multicultural, zoning-free mashup of a streetscape and you have the recipe for the No. 1 spot on Forbes’ list of America’s Coolest Cities To Live."

With all do respect I think you could have tried a little harder on the title of this thread. I almost feel like re-posting it.

Nothing against Houston but Forbes would not know what cool is if it hit them with a shovel.

All the people that celebrate Houston's and Texas' economic growth...
just keep in mind, that California and Florida used to brag about the same thing just a decade ago.

Shouldn't Texas be ok considering it's economy is based off things that are becoming more relevant in today's society like energy?

We are the coolest. :-) I've been saying that since I moved here! And, I still can't believe I'm lucky enough to live here! Anyone who doesn't see it is either really really boring or they just don't "get it."
